Arrive into Scotland and transfer to your hotel. The day is at leisure to explore, before joining your fellow travellers and travel director for a welcome dinner in a local restaurant this evening.
Join a local expert on a city tour this morning, taking in the sights such as the ornate Scott Memorial, the 18th Century New Town and the Palace of Hollyroodhouse. Venture up the Royal Mile to visit Edinburgh Castle, home to Mons Meg, the Stone of Destiny and Scotland's Crown Jewels. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Cross into Fife and head to St Andrew's, the home of golf since its creation. Enjoy free time to explore - perhaps head to West Sands Beach to relive the famous scene of Chariots of Fire. Continue to Pitlochry, famous for its salmon run and pass the Grampian Mountains to the sparkling Spey Valley. Head to the most northern point of the British Highlands, John O'Groat's to board the ferry to the beautiful Orkney Islands. Join a local expert to explore the 5,000 year old village of Skara Brae, the mysterious Ring of Brodgar in Kirkwall and a small chapel built by Italian prisoners during World War II.
Travel through stunning, pristine landscapes along the northern coast to 'head over the sea to Skye', the largest island of the Inner Hebrides. On the way to Broadford, hear the tale of how young Flora MacDonald helped to smuggle Bonnie Prince Charlie to the island.
